Noticed there were some good recipes in the DIY contest thread and thought there should be a regular ongoing thread for people to share recipes, ideas, hints and questions regarding making your own!   Its really not that difficult as long as you can dedicate an area, a block of time with no distractions,  understand that nicotine in its concentrated form is to be handled properly in a well ventilated area and that most recipes will need time to age or "steep"  to achieve best results. Time allows all flavors to be married together and mature, making them taste richer. TOBACCO Flavors generally taste better over time (steep for 1-2 weeks).  *

Here is just some of the info I have gathered and is by no means the "whole story" on DIY in this new and evolving phenomena known as vaping.  Please feel free to share your tips!!

For best steeping results: Store e-liquid in a cool dark place (in a safe place AWAY FROM CHILDREN AND PETS) and shake daily. (Steeping can be from 2 days up to 3 weeks. It is a personal preference) PG is a better flavor carrier than VG. The higher the VG content, the better it will taste with steeping.   Speeding up the steeping process using an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner is an option. Some people breath their mixes daily and place their bottles in a warm water bath.  How do you steep?

* Sometimes adding more flavor to your mix will actually result in less actual flavor. Vaping a juice immediately after mixing is not a good indicator of the final result.  Give it time or a good steep.

http://www.eliquidcalculator.com/#setbase   I never start any recipe without using an e-liquid calculator and keep a separate notebook for just recipes.  By keeping notes it is easy to reference during the construction of the juice and will serve as an archive for your successes and failiures.

Flavor Manufacturer Abbreviations:  Please feel free to add to this list or correct as we go.

AL= Atmos Lab

FA= Flavor Art

TFA= The Flavor Apprentice,  originally known as TPA or The Perfumers Apprentice

LA= Lorann

FW= Flavor West

NF= Natures Flavor

CAP= Capellas

VZ= Vaping Zones concentrated flavors

WL Wizards Lab

I prefer to obtain my flavorings from a supplier who sells to the vaping community as they are aware of ingredients to avoid such as Diacetyl and Acetoin.   Please be sure to use USP Propylene Glycol and Glycerin.

Remember taste is very subjective, what works for my tastebuds might not work for yours and vice versa!

So Please Share your favorite recipes:   Im DIY-ing to try them!!wink

Yes, I would consider it low. Others may not. There are people out there using <1.0 ohm rba's on mechanical mods now. I don't do that.

That looks yummy delicious!..cheeky  I'm gonna have to order some malted milk and brown sugar...   By the looks of your Ethyl Maltol tip you are using it in the powdered form?

Tootsie Roll Recipe

I was looking at several Candy Tootsie Roll recipes and came up with this. Haven't tried it so it probably will need tweaking. What's missing is White Corn Syrup. They don't make a flavoring for corn syrup.

Nope, not at all. I vape at .7 ohm.
