Need a hand on developing an "shocking cool mint" | Forum
November 15, 2013
I figured people mixing theyr own liquids, so before starting my mixology, i tried to think what kind of flavor i would want to make.
So i looked for inspiration from different candy and cookie industry and this met my eye.
A Cool mint chewing gum.
But then i also found this: A energy drink flavored juice.
Okies, now i had my idea to make a flavor, A cool mint, that would have some speciality to it. I dont want to make it tasting like menthol added to mint, energy drink, but i was having an idea.
I wanted to make a Minty menthol- candylike vapor.
I wanted to it make more puff than troatfeel, so i figured not to exeed 12mg/ml that makes it little bit sweeter, but what else can i do to make it sweet? Solution would be using more VG than on regular mix used by my favorite ejuice (Mints by Liqua) which by small research ended to be 80/20% PG/VG So i am figuring it would be 70-75/25-30% range to make it puff more. This would also lessen the throat gripping of the puff.
So how would i make it shocking? the idea of the energy drinks kept haunting me, untill i realised that they do sell caffeeine additives. So would it be possible for to add this to the mix? They got caffeine gel, tablets etch and yes, even some that are water soluable (usually used in caffeine tablets that melts to your mouth)
Well, so the end mixture starts to look like:
caffeine (i would prefer this to be low %, too much and it adds bitterness)
Now, i havent really done this yet, what i have done is just nix readymade ejuices to mint to menthol, all i got was pretty much well tasting puffs, but too strong throat grip, too thick smoke, and nicotine levels of 18mg/ml. I figured i could just mix 10mg of that solution to 10mg of PG or VG base with 0mg nicotine. and add that dash of caffeine to it. But before i go all that, i want to know what you who have more experience on it have to say about it?
Is there some sort of formula, to archieve my lil goal? What incredients should i take? Is there some better liquids that would archieve this sweetness? Any other kinds of flavors, that would fit in this?
