This is another recipe made at 3ML, so adjust your quantities when scaling up. Flavorings, including sweetener, should be 25% of the total recipe. The flavorings should be in at a 60% Black Cherry/40% Cola ratio.

So how did it taste? Good? Bitter? Spot on?

Been working on a cherry cola here as well, but it seems to be awful thick to get the desired level of flavor, will try this recipe also. Thanks!

BTW, where do you get your stevia, and what concentration to you use? I had some pure stevia packets that I dissolved in distilled water/PG and have been using this at about 1 drop per ml and have been having food results, but of course, 2 packets don’t go very far, so I am looking for a source for more. Thanks!

I got my Stevia from GNC, they should have bottles of the liquid in stock. Don’t use the packets if you can keep from it, don’t think they are pure but the liquid is. You can also get sweetener from perfumersapprentice.com which is pretty good stuff. I prefer it over the Stevia.

I have a question about sweetners, I wonder how spleda sweetner changes once it vaporizes. I have read a decent amount about how splenda is chemically not very safe and I in fact I seem to be one of the people that cant process it very well as I seem to have all of the side effects that are possible with it. Gastric pain/abdonminal pain and joint aches and on and on. I wonder if the vaporized version would treat me the same. ???

The only sweeteners that I’ve heard are generally safe are sucralose, stevia and agave nectar. As you said, some people have trouble processing sucralose. I haven’t heard the same with stevia or agave nectar, but there could be the same problem with some people. As for how sucralose would treat you if you vaped it, I don’t know. I would think that the quantities in the vapor would be very minuet, plus you’re not actually ingesting it.

As for sweeteners and vaping, sucralose is the only one I know of that causes the least amount of harm to an atomizer. If I use stevia in a recipe, the atomizer gunks up much quicker.

You might try increasing your percentage of VG in your vaping. VG is much sweeter than PG.

So I’ve searched around and I’ve found two stevia products that I think might be suitable for sweetening vaping juice.
The first one is Stevia Extract by Now foods, nothing but stevia extract, water and 11% alcohol
The other one is Stevia Glycerite, also by Now Foods, nothing but stevia extract, vegetable glycerine, and water.
Usage notes on both say that sedimentation may occur, shake well before using.

I’m no rocket scientist, but the fact that one of these products already contains VG, which we are already using in our mixing, that it would be the odds on favorite for blending smoothly and sweetening consistency, I know some folks have mentioned using the stevia extract, has anyone tried using the stevia glycerite? or am I going to have to be the guinea pig on this one?

glycerite as an emulsion should be fine. No different than the VG some of us vape every day. Besides, you’ll only be using approximately 1 drop for 10ml of mix.

Ok, since you brought it up, I picked up some 100% agave nectar today. Accidentally found it in a store I was at, and it was actually pretty inexpensive. So how do you use it to sweeten juice? Do you cut it down or use it straight, and if you cut it, what with?

  • Profile picture of Locutus-Borg Locutus-Borg said 1 year, 10 months ago ago:

David, from what I understand, you use it the same way you would use stevia, one drop per 10ml, then adjust up or down to fit your tastes.

Alan, this thread was about sweeteners. I searched for mint flavored stevia and agave nector and couldn’t find any.
