Regardless of the current furore over patent applications (!) I have long been an admirer of Super T products (see http://vapersplace.com/groups/prof-beards-blog-group/forum/topic/the-super-six-review/ ).  They are about the best made pieces of kit in the vaping world – simple and well engineered.  HOWEVER it is only fair to say that Super T products are VERY expensive…

Recently, Lisa at Cloud 9 Vaping became a Super T reseller, and given the issues around ordering direct (see my Super Six article) I thought this would be a great opportunity to try out the VapeMate.  (I justify the expense by stating that after nearly two years of vaping the only devices I have bought are a bunch of Screwdrivers and my Super Six  – I also have a FistPack and an eGo, but I won those at Vapefest).

So, I ordered a VapeMate and a Super T "Shorty" drip-tip from Cloud 9.   As always Lisa was super fast – I ordered on Thursday and my stuff was delivered on Friday.

    So – firstly, the kit:

    My order was beautifully wrapped:

On undoing the wrapping I found a nice black "velvet" pouch:

Inside were:  an instruction sheet, a bag with two spare rubber O-rings (one for the bottle fitting of the VapeMate the other for the atomiser end), the VapeMate itself, a bag with two 5ml dropper bottles and a length of tube, and a bag with my drip tip in (which had nicely been popped in with everything else):

The VapeMate itself looks like this (I went for the plain version):

It has a fitting for a dropper bottle to screw into:

A fitting which plugs into a 510 or 901 atomiser (note the two holes – one for air intake and the other to feed the juice to the atomiser):

And a sight-glass to show the feed of juice:

    Assembly and use

The first thing was to decide whether or not to use "the tube".  The dropper bottles (which are standard types) can be screwed into the VapeMate "as is" (which means you have to invert them to squeeze juice into the VapeMate) or with a tube which allows "horizontal use".  I decided to give the tube a go…

I cut a length of tube the height of the bottle and inserted it into the bottle top:

and then cut a 45 degree angle on the other end:

I then filled the bottle and inserted the dropper top with the tube attached:

I then screwed the bottle into the VapeMate and plugged the VapeMate into a LR510 atomiser fitted to my Super T Super Six:

Next, I insert my Super T drip tip into the VapeMate (other drip tips can be used of course):

    Ready to go:

I gave the bottle a little squeeze and the juice flowed:

What's it like?  It works!  I had no trouble gauging how hard to squeeze the bottle and haven't flooded the atomiser once.   (I used the device for about six hours before writing this).  Better still, I've found that I can hold the Super Six and squeeze the bottle one-handed – so this will become my "driving solution" (no more pulling over to top-up carts or drip!).

I doubt I shall use this in the pub though – I can imagine the comments!

So – overall, another well made but very expensive device from David at Super T which is simple to use and works splendidly (and "as advertised").
