About the burnt taste, that is typically the atomizer trying to tell you that either 1. its running dry and the material inside of it is being charred or 2. the atomizer is beyond its life span and need to be replaced.
Sometimes you can clean the atomizer out to provide you a few days of better taste/vapor
while waiting for your new atomizer to arrive.
