The VPLive Vape Team is an informative video talk show with exclusive vaping content made by the community for the community. Our team was assembled with careful planning to cover a wide variety of topics by use of correspondents. Our ultimate goal is to help the vaping community be informed not only on accessories and devices but the social aspect of ecigs as well as the legal uphill battle that is facing us and will continue in full force in the future. Last but not least, we will be using innovative technology to make it easy and accessible to everyone looking to make the switch from analogs to ecigs, as well as assisting anyone having problems keeping smoking out of their lives.

I am an ex 23 year old smoker who kicked the habit of a pack a day with the help of electronic cigarettes. My passion for this wonderful invention has fueled me to help others in their journey to quit. The idea of the VapeTeam was formed by joining forces from within the vaping community to cover topics on innovation, social as well as legal aspects that concern our present and future lifestyle. My main focus is new to fairly new vapers and maintain a video diary that chronicles my vaping journey as well as giving honest and precise opinions on accesories and devices!

I had my first cigarette when I was 16, but really started smoking when I got to college at age 18.  Before the end of Sophomore year I was over a pack a day and it was starting to negatively affect my health.  I quit smoking for about 9 months using various methods including the patch and lozenges, but went back to smoking.  One day in the summer of 2009 my Dad handed me an NJOY super mini and said take a puff, I immediately was in love.  I was on and off analogs through a series of kits including 801s and M401s before I got my first Screwdriver MKII in March of 2010.  From that point on my mod collection grew and my involvement in the community increased.  It’s been a wild ride, but I’m happy to be here.

I didn’t start smoking cigarettes until I was in my twenties, but my addiction to them was strong. As a massage therapist, I always felt guilty hiding out behind my office and puffing away–and when one of my patients would catch me and give me “that look” it was just awful. I wanted to stop, I tried things like patches that made my heart race and disgusting tasting gum, but none of it worked for me.Two years ago, I took a trip with my parents to Alabama. We were riding in the same car, my parents don’t smoke, and my father doesn’t stop for anything but gasoline–meaning no smoke breaks for me. I got by with some electronic cigarettes, but they didn’t taste like my cigarettes and certainly weren’t satisfying! That was my first attempt at vaping, it lasted until the end of the trip. Finally, some friends introduced me to the e-go/ce4 setup. I found a blueberry e liquid that I preferred, and I made the switch. It’s been almost a year, and I haven’t had a tobacco cigarette. My equipment has changed, I love trying new things and taking this journey. My whole goal is to share this method of tobacco harm reduction with as many people as possible.

About me..hmm..well, I was born in Charleston, SC, spent 7 years in Hawaii, 7 years in the Philippines, and now reside in California.  I’ve been to many places since my Dad was in the military.  My parents are now both retired and living in the Philippines.  I have one brother and two sisters; my brother who lives in Japan and my two sisters who live in San Diego, CA.  Being the youngest, I guess you can say I’m the one that hasn’t settled down and tied the knot. I started vaping (using electronic cigarettes) the day after my birthday, October 25, 2010.  My friend Eugene bought a kit from a local 7-11 and introduced it to me.  My initial intentions of switching to electronic cigarettes was to look “cool” at work.  Having a device similar to a cigarette but with a blue led instead of a burning tip, I figured that would be different, or unique.  But it’s funny how right when I switched, I stopped smoking analogs completely. But after a week of using it, I did more research on the internet.  Aside from checking the benefits of electronic cigarettes, I wanted something that would give more vapor.  I then got a Silver Bullet.  But that wasn’t enough.  I did more research.  I started going into forums. I went to meets.  I watched You Tube videos on mods, juices, and anything e-cig related.  Then I thought to myself, “I can do vids.”  But my approach was not only to do reviews, but to do skits, to humor and entertain as well.  And that’s how Vaping Monkey evolved. So now it’s been over a year of not smoking. Hopefully, my videos support you’re alternative to smoking, and humor you as well.

I smoked for over 20 years – the last 15 of those years attempting to quit …. multiple TIMES AND FAILING.  After my last attempt with “approved cessation” and adverse effects from Chantix – I  quit trying to quit smoking.  I gave up, convinced I’d die a smoker.  I picked up an e-cigarette June of 2009 in a half-hearted attempted to cut back on what had become a 4+ pack-a-day habit.  Within 3 months I was tobacco free. The results? I have lost 65 pounds, I no longer have to take diabetic medication to control my blood sugars, I my breathing has improved greatly! Yes I know and acknowledge the risks involved with e-cigarettes – not everything is known about the long term effects….. but I still CHOOSE – the E-cigarette over Smoking! I choose a reduced harm approach. Some groups and advocates need to go beyond the confines of their ivory tower ideology and start talking to the people they are supposedly trying to help.  People who live in the real world, one in which existing smoking cessation products are highly ineffective.  One in which electronic cigarettes are filling a void by offering an alternative that replaces the behavioral and physical stimuli of cigarette smoking, not just the pharmacologic reinforcement.  E-cigs are a life-saver for those of us who have repeatedly tried to quit smoking without any success.
